Quick Review: Finepix X100 (Digital Range Finder Camera)

10.02.2011 um 18:39

There really is every reason to be excited!

The X100 looks stunning, is very well designed, it does everything you could possibly want with considerable ease and it simply has one of the best viewfinders I’ve ever seen anywhere full stop.

I just tried out a pre-production version and the key features are as follows:

  • Excellent engineering & remarkable JPEG and RAW image quality
  • Brilliant, fast & accurate F2/f23mm (equiv. to f35mm on a 35mm camera) fixed prime lens
  • APS-C sized CMOS sensor with very low noise output
  • Very simple & straight forward handling
All this, as well as the low price tag, makes this little beauty a serious force to be reckoned with.

In short, the Finepix X100 is a remarkably clever, neat and excellent digital ranger finder alternative for anybody who is not able to afford a Leica M.

I look forward to hearing your views and experience reports regarding the Finepix X100!
