Sledging in Bergün :-)

Situated a mere two and a half hours away from Zurich is the fabulous little Graubünden village of Bergün, also known as Bravuogn in Romansh.
The best way to reach Bergün is to jump onto an SBB train, until you reach Chur, and then change trains in order to continue this highly scenic journey on the world famous Rhätische Bahn.
SBB offer a special discounted saver ticket, including weekend sledging pass, details of which you can find here: http://gruppen.railaway.ch/Firmen-und-Vereine/SchlittelweltPreda-Berg%C3%BCnWinterGruppenD.aspx
If you don't own your own sledge you can easily rent a good one for little money at one of the many rental shops in Bergün.
For anybody wanting to stay over night I have to recommend the very comfortable and well run Sporthotel.

It's a family run business with a good restaurant and bar, very generous rooms that even include basic cooking facilities - should you develop a sudden craving for Rösti after midnight.
Taking the train, which runs regularly every fifteen or so minutes, from Bergün to Preda is the preferred method of getting the sledge up the mountain, since it'll otherwise take you about 5 hours on foot to walk up the Albula Pass.
Sledging from Preda to Bergün along the Albula Pass is reasonably safe, very good fun and the scenery is quite out of this world. Once you arrive back in Bergün all that remains to be done is to walk through the village to the train station and do the run all over again until the sun sets behind the mountains.
Something nobody should miss out on, by the way, is the opportunity to sledge along the Albula Pass at night when it's dark and the moon is shining. Not only do you see the stars in all their glory, you also get an awesome adrenalin rush not knowing quite where to next left of right turn will take you...
So, I trust you'll enjoy yourselves and be awesome!
Looking forward to your comments & feedback as usual.
