People don't change, they just pretend they do

cuz deep down inside your soul is a wall

and no matter what, the bricks they won't fall

no matter how you fight and scream,

just because it doesn't seem,

that what is looking back at you in mirrors all around,

is what you think you are yourself, your feet stuck to the ground

so please don't reach your human hands for something you can't grab

the universe is its own plan,

don't try to change, you just don't can

I bet the first thing you did when you heard "he ain't heavy, he's my brother" was correcting the "ain't", right?

well I understand your choice but it spoils the poem because it really is grammatically wrong... but like you said, your poem.

good ideas and imagery, just a small grammatical correction (if I may). Replace 'you just don't can' (grammatically not correct) with something like 'you just never can'.
